AFinder 1.1

Summary

Easy and efficient identification of patients with AF within your CareLink® device population that may have undiagnosed AF and/or with AF that may be over a certain threshold.

The app

This Medtronic Discovery™ Link application has been designed to allow easy and efficient identification of patients within your CareLink® device population that may have undiagnosed AF and/or with AF that may be over a certain threshold. These patients may require different management. The main chart allows you to identify patients over a user definable AT/AF Daily Burden threshold.

You can define your threshold by setting two parameters:

  • AF Occurred sets the timeframe you want to consider.

If you choose “Last 12 Months” AFinder will look for events occurred in the last twelve months starting from the Last Refresh date backwards; if a patient transmitted the last time five months ago, data from the preceding seven months are available for the analysis.

  • AT/AF Daily Burden sets the minimum threshold that identifies a patient as a patient with AF.

“The AFinder application improved the AF Detection capability and importantly identified AF in many patients who had no prior known AF history, suffered long AF episodes, had high CHADS2 score and were not treated by OAC”
